Jaguar C-X75 Concept

Here is Jaguar C-X75 concept review and HD wallpaper. Jaguar C-X75 concept is a plug-in hybrid, two-seat, concept car from Jaguar which debuted at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. The C-X75 produces 778 horsepower through four electric motors, each of which drives one of the four wheels. The batteries driving these motors are recharged using two diesel-fed micro gas turbines instead of a conventional four-stroke engine.

Jaguar C-X75 Concept details

The Jaguar CX75 is described as an ideas model that will influence future design and technology. The plug-in hybrid supercar will be priced at between GB£700,000 – GB£900,000 (US$1.15 – US$1.48 million) depending on local market and taxes. A maximum of 250 cars will be built in partnership with Formula One team Williams F1. The production version will have an all-electric range of 50 km (30 mi).

Jaguar has a bit of a tricky history with supercars. The only previous example it actually built was the XJ220, which remains an impressive specimen even 20 years later, even though it never quite lived up to what the original concept car promised those who put down their deposits. Then in 2010 the British automaker unveiled the C-X75 and our hearts stopped.

Now it seems that, while the hybrid turbo four will power most of the 250 examples of the C-X75 earmarked for production, a limited quantity will actually include micro-turbines as envisioned in the concept car. In May 2011 Jaguar announced plans to build a limited production of the Jaguar C-X75 concept, with a downsized, boosted petrol engine instead of the micro gas turbines in the concept, from 2013 until 2015.

The C-X75 was named in honour of Jaguar’s 75th anniversary, the C stands for concept and the X for experimental. The jet engines (which will drive the rear wheels, so don’t go expecting flames shooting out the back, Batmobile style) are reportedly being produced by the Bladon Jets Engineering Centre in Coventry – a company based near Jaguar’s headquarters and partially owned by Jaguar’s parent company Tata.
